Lebanon Crisis Response
A ceasefire announced on 27 November in Lebanon offers opportunity for children and families to rebuild their lives. However, due to the massive destruction of homes and infrastructure during the conflict, 179,000 are still unable to return to their homes. The hardest-hit areas include Nabatieh and Tyre, where families with young children and elderly members face prolonged displacement are grappling with severe water shortages, unreliable electricity, and damaged facilities. Winter is now setting in and displaced families in temporary shelters are facing colder temperatures. Our team is on the ground to provide essential winter supplies, including blankets, heaters and warm clothing. You can partner us to help displaced children and families survive the winter.
Our work across Lebanon also continues for the recovery and rebuilding of the lives of the displaced. We continue to provide food, safe drinking water, and essential winter supplies in response to this crisis. Since late September, we have supported more than 200,000 people. The ceasefire must hold for Lebanon and its people so that the displaced children and families can start their journey toward healing, rebuilding, and safely returning home.
World Vision has been supporting children and families in Lebanon for over 45 years.
