Mingalaba! (Pronounced Min-ga-lah-bah)—that’s how you say hello in Burmese 

We’re excited to welcome you onboard our virtual flight this March as we journey into the heart of Taikkyi, Myanmar—a community that, despite immense challenges from conflict and rising commodity prices, is seeing real progress thanks to child sponsorship. 

During this exclusive virtual trip, you’ll hear firsthand stories from families who are now better equipped to provide for their children through our livelihood intervention programmes. You’ll also learn about children who have overcome malnutrition and the improvements in literacy among young learners through our reading camps and literacy programs. 

Taikkyi is an area vulnerable to flash floods and landslides, families also struggle with severe economic poverty compounded by the ongoing conflict across the country. Our humanitarian staff on the ground will share how World Vision continues to adapt our child sponsorship initiatives to a fragile and disaster-prone context in Myanmar, ensuring that children in Taikkyi have access to education, healthcare, and protection from violence in these difficult times. 

We invite you to join us for this impactful virtual experience, where you’ll see the direct effect of child sponsorship on the children’s lives and have the chance to interact with our area programme team live on Zoom to better understand our work in very fragile areas.
