Lebanon Crisis Response
A ceasefire announced on 27 November in Lebanon offers opportunity for children and families to rebuild their lives.
As of 26 November in Lebanon, almost 4000 people have been killed, and more than a million children and families have fled their homes after a sudden upsurge in violence since the end of September. Homes, hospitals and critical infrastructure have been damaged, and many children have been left out of school as their classrooms were converted into emergency shelters.
The past year – and especially the past two months – have taken a dramatic toll with over 200 children killed. In South Lebanon, entire villages are reported as totally destroyed.
Our work across Lebanon continues for the recovery and rebuilding of the lives of the displaced. We continue to provide food, safe drinking water, and essential winter supplies in response to this crisis. Since late September, we have supported more than 200,000 people.
The ceasefire must hold for Lebanon and its people so that the more than 1 million displaced children and families can start their journey toward healing rebuilding, and safely returning home.
World Vision is on the ground and responding to the emergency needs of the most vulnerable children and families in Lebanon, providing essential aid to children and families as they rebuild their lives.
World Vision has been supporting children and families in Lebanon for over 45 years.
