At least 2 billion are drinking from water sources contaminated by faeces and by 2025, half the world's population will be living in water-stressed areas. You can play an important role in helping World Vision improve clean water access, and ensure good hygiene and sanitation in the poor and developing communities we are supporting. This means that children do not have to walk miles each day carrying water, taking time away from studying. It means safety for girls who have to walk through miles of the outback alone just to fetch water. From the mountainous terrain of Asia to the parched lands of Africa, help villages come alive with water. Construct boreholes with hand pumps, build solar powered water tanks and provide filters to get rid of parasites and worms in mountain water so children have a fighting chance of retaining nutrients in their bodies.
