Giving a Legacy Gift is Really Easy!

1. Gift through CPF monies

You can nominate World Vision as a beneficiary of your CPF upon your demise.

2. Gift through your insurance policies

You can designate World Vision as the beneficiary of your insurance policy should it cease to be of importance to you or your family’s financial security.

3. Gift through your will

a) You can specify a sum of cash or percentage of the value of your estate (e.g. money, real estate, stocks and shares, jewellery, paintings).  For example, you might wish to leave $500,000 or 50% of your estate to World Vision. “Estate” is used to describe any money, property or personal belongings owned at the time of one’s death.

b) You can also designate World Vision as the second in line to receive all or part of your bequests, should one or more of your primary named beneficiaries predecease you.

c) You can also make a residuary bequest, where all or part of your estate would be given to your chosen charity only after all other beneficiaries have been provided for in your will.

If you would like to donate by leaving a legacy to World Vision, please consult a solicitor. Your solicitor can help you draft one with a legacy to the organisation of your choice. If you already have a will, you may bequeath your gift by making a simple addition to your existing will, known as a codicil.

World Vision - An Organisation You Can Trust

As part of our stewardship, we optimise resources and distribute them where they are needed most. We carefully monitor and review programmes and costs, use donations and grants for their intended purposes, and look for ways to leverage funds for maximum impact.

Operating Expenditure in World Vision Singapore Office

According to Singapore's charity regulations, the total expenses incurred due to public fundraising appeals in a financial year must not exceed 30% of total donations collected through the public appeals in that year. At World Vision Singapore, the total expenditure was 17.2% of total funds raised in FY21, with over 82.8% going towards our international and local ministries. Read our annual reports here.

Ensuring Donations are Directed to the Appropriate Programmes

Funds collected are channelled to specific programmes in accordance to the need-based budget that is prepared and requested by our Area Development Programmes (ADPs), through the respective National Offices.

Project deliverables and child well-being indicators are agreed upon and regular reports are provided each year to both donors and Support Offices. World Vision Singapore also makes trips to the targeted communities to observe and monitor the improvements in the lives of the beneficiaries. We are committed to ensuring that funds raised are directed to appropriate programmes.

It is mandatory that every National Office and ADP are regularly audited by the Global Centre, Regional Office and external auditors (if necessary). Our global auditors are KPMG. The frequency of auditing depends on the size of the funding of the project. The larger the scale of the project, the more frequent the auditing.

My Plan

Every day, millions of innocent children suffer atrocities of all kinds.

Children in Crisis programmes help boys and girls affected by sexual exploitation, trafficking, hazardous labour, street life, disability or lack of a primary caregiver with protection and ensuring that their basic needs are met.

In the Philippines, child labour was reduced by 86% in just three years.

More than 90 percent of disaster-related deaths occur in developing countries.

World Vision already works in these hard places, responding with life-saving speed when disaster strikes. World Vision adopts a “first-in, last-out” approach: We first respond with life-saving emergency aid, and then we stay for the long term to help families recover and rebuild.

World Vision responded to 170 emergencies and assisted almost 13,900,000 people in 56 countries from 2016 - 2017, offering hope, meeting immediate needs and developing plans for the future.

Economically disadvantaged families are often unable to provide a balanced diet for their children.

Help entire communities gain year-long access to nutritious food by giving them the financial resources and skills they need to earn sustainable incomes and change their lives in the long run.

Every 60 seconds, a family receives the tools to overcome poverty

Education is a critical component in the fight against poverty.

Help children gain access to quality education and attain the skills that will prepare them for future economic opportunities. When children are educated, they are equipped with the knowledge and confidence they need to advocate for their rights, transform their communities and face the future with hope.

In 2016, more than four million children in more than 60 countries were reached with age-appropriate, quality education programmes and services through World Vision.

Well-nourished children with access to medical care are less susceptible to fatal diseases.

Support health, nutrition and sanitation programmes that address both the symptoms and root causes of community health challenges. When children are not sick or malnourished, they are able to lead healthier, more productive lives, paving the way for a bright future.

We improved sanitation facilities for 3.3 million people and distributed 10,919,578 long-lasting insecticide treated nets to protect children and families from malaria.

Without clean water and basic sanitation, diseases become rampant and infant mortality rates inevitably increase.

When clean water is close by, children are freed from the burden of walking miles to collect water for the family at the expense of their studying time. Provide access to clean water and sanitation to poor communities through drilling boreholes, installing handwashing stations and more.

World Vision reaches one new person with clean water every 10 seconds and reaches 3 more schools every day with clean water.
