A team of 7 students from Republic Polytechnic's School of Infocomm shares their experience of working with World Vision on an online service learning project to equip youth in Philippines with skills to increase employability.

As the Ukraine conflict, climate shocks, and ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic converge to undermine food supplies and economies, the risk of famine continues to intensify for children and families worldwide. Approximately 50 million girls, boys and their families in 45 countries are on the brink of starvation.

With one person estimated to be dying of hunger every four seconds, 238 local and international non-governmental organisations are calling on leaders gathering at the 77th UN General Assembly to take decisive action to end the spiralling global hunger crisis.  

Xa is only 14 years old, but for years, she could see her future: early marriage. It's the way it’s always been. Marriage as a teen seemed inevitable for Xa. But change was coming.
